Card For Week of December 26, 2011

This week nature drew a card for us, the Crane Card.  The lesson here is to start looking for messages in your daily life, messages that speak to you in some way.  In my case, that happened yesterday while out on a walk with our dog Maggie.  We saw a beautiful white crane near the path so I felt this messenger of nature was more important to pay attention to than drawing a card from the deck.  I haven’t posted a video on the blog before so hope you can all see this.

The crane is able to look after its own needs for finding food, and yet keep an eye on what is going on around it.  It wasn’t afraid of us and kept flying short little flights in the same direction we were going.  We did see it get a bite to eat at one of it’s landing spots.  So this week, while paying attention to the details of life, try to “rise above” any situations and see things from the broader perspective…see what is really a threat and what is not.  The bird was so much bigger than Maggie that I think Maggie would have turned and run away if she had actually gotten close to it.  And I certainly meant it no harm!  So it moved away, but in a relaxed way, and kept looking for food.

Enjoy this week as we move towards a new year.  Envision what you want for yourself next year and let those thoughts take flight!  It is certain to be an exciting year for all of us!
