Card for Week of April 23, 2012

This week we have drawn the Fire card.  This is not a bad thing, but it reminds us that there are probably things we need to “clean out” of our lives, things that are cluttering.  When fire naturally burns a forest now and then, it allows more sunlight in so that fresh new buds can grow on the forest floor.  Burning things up isn’t the ideal way to get rid of them, however, even though the long term result can be good.

The first time I pruned my rose bushes, it was PAINFUL for me to cut off branches that seemed good enough to keep living.  But then when spring came and the beautiful fresh new leaves and buds sprouted forth, I really got the importance of it.

So look around this week and see if you can think of anything or anyone that is not supporting you, that is “more trouble than it is worth”, and prune it out of your life!
