This week we have a message about the owl symbol, but not from our cards. The card that Rhonda painted for our deck is beautiful, but today I was looking at new web site from Dover Publications called DoverPictura.com and found this beautiful owl image. You can download art from there now, one page at a time to use royalty free. They have a great selection of old time drawings, etc. I saw this owl and wondered why there is a subtle Griffin in the background. I did a Google search and found a ton of images and some information about an ancient Owl Woman from Neolithic Europe…very very old symbol deeply engrained in our souls. It is a popular image again today with young artists…just look at the “images” link on the left if you do a Google search.
I wanted to share with you that they symbols on our cards are simply shorthand for something going on in your life or some higher aspect of yourself to pay attention to. “A picture is worth a thousand words!”
Sometimes the animals actually do show up in your back yard to get your attention, but really all the symbols on Voice of the Soul cards are meant to trigger an idea that would take a lot of time to explain without them. So think about the wisdom the owl signifies, and that it can see “into the night’ or into the darkness of situations that need to have light shown on them. What does the owl mean to you?
